We had A LOT of fun with our costumes. Matt was Jack Frost and I was Mother Nature. We took some pictures before heading off to the party just in case our costumes fell apart along the way!Watch out, I'm letting Jack bring in Winter!
A blue bird on MY shoulder!?
Seriously? That face cracks me up.
Okay, so can you guess who/what everyone is?

Who would have thought there would be TWO Mother Natures at the party?!

MakeOVER

My precious friend Amanda Holman was trusting enough to let me have fun with her hair and give her a little makeover. We had a lot of fun switching up her style.

Before:After:
I used the melting technique with a warm brown at the root area that blended down into a brighter red! SO FUN!

You can really see the red in this picture.

New Hair

Yup, I conjured up the guts to finally rock this asymmetrical number. I LOVE IT! Ashlei Koko is my new superstar. She did a fabulous job and did everything I asked her to do. Who wouldn't want two different haircuts on one head?Short Side:

This Thursday, Ashlei and my teacher Niki will be coloring my hair for a color class. I'm excited to see what they think up! Creativity is FUN!

His Kind of Rest...

Family pic! ^

So, on our drive to Utah months ago, Sketch really wanted to be on Matt's lap, but since Matt was driving, he wouldn't let him.
...But Sketch didn't like only resting his head on Matt's lap, so he scooted some more of his body on him...

...until he was able to slowly scoot his body onto Matt's lap!
Sketch just taking a little rest on Matt's shoulder.

Sketch just resting on my legs, chewing his toy.

Sketch just resting in my arms.
Sketch just resting on my legs as I do art.

Sketch is lazy...

Redkin...Teach me all you need me to know!

Ok, so I LOVE going back to school for hair! I am already learning so much and there is SO much more to learn. For anyone that thinks Cosmetology is for "the stupid blonde" LET ME TELL YOU! It is totally not! HA. Things are picking up fast and I've already had my first client. Nothing big, just a bang trim, but a client all the same AND I am pleased to say that she will be coming back for a full haircut :).
I love ALL of the people at Austin Kade Academy. The teachers have the best personalities and bring a fun and light air into the school. The other students are beyond nice and are helping me quickly adapt to the way the salon is run and how the school does things. I am so so SO grateful for their help.
After my first day, my feet are pretty tired and my knees are pretty sore, but that should only last a week. Now I need to get my gears going and study study study the Redkin line of color! Wish me luck!

BACK to SCHOOL!

So, who would have thought that I would go back to the salon? Not me! I thought I found my calling in art, but as the semesters went on, I realized I was missing something. One day while I was still in bed before getting up for the day, the thought of getting my license in Idaho and going back to the salon popped into my head! Right away I was super excited and couldn't wait to tell Matt about my new plan. Of course he was super supportive and I immediately starting calling schools to see where I would be accepted as a transfer student only needing 500 hours. (Idaho requires 500 more hours to be licensed than Massachusetts, bummer huh!?).

I found an amazing school, about 35 minutes from my home, in Idaho Falls. I will be starting TOMORROW! I am beyond excited to learn new things and to add on to experience. There is not a whole lot to say on the matter yet since I haven't fully started, but I will keep trying to update with fun and exciting news!

Matt: Matt is super busy this semester as well. He is working full time, coaching soccer, and illustrating a book! We will hardly see each other :( BUT we are going to spend time together watching this new show Merlin that Kevin and Michelle got us into so I have to RUN!

More LATER!!!

Maine

We spent a week in Maine this summer with my family and, MAN, if I could choose somewhere to live, it would be Maine! It is near impossible to put into words the feel of Maine, so I would just recommend that you please visit. :)

We went for a walk on the Marginal Way with Mom, Grandad, Doris, and Griffin. Mom took this picture of us on some of the rocks we walked by. Bryce finally got his wish, I swung off a rope swing at Salmon Falls. It took 2 years for me to do it, and NO ONE got a picture of me doing it! ha

Sorry about the bad picture quality. I didn't pack our camera charger and our camera died within the first few hours of being in Maine :(. We had to buy those OLD throw away cameras.
