Massachusetts here we come!

One week from today we leave to fly back home to Massachusetts. Technically, MA is no longer my home BUT I don't really want to be technical right now. It has been too long since I have been home and my heart is aching for it. As much as I love certain aspects of Idaho and Utah, like the LOW HUMIDITY level, nothing can really compare to New England.
This week leading up to our return home has been and is a crazy one. We have been jam packed with late night study sessions, finals, packing our whole apartment, trying to spend time with the newly engaged Matt and Laura, and then moving to Utah on Saturday AND FDP. Actually, that sounds crazier than it really is. Matt and I are finishing up with our finals tomorrow, hopefully, and packing should be done by Thursday. We are both ecstatic to see Matt's family in Utah and to spend the weekend with them...pretty bummed we aren't spending the whole week!
Today as I was sitting back and gathering my thoughts on the week and I realized that we are so blessed. I can't even count how many people have offered to help us pack and clean, SINCERELY offered. We are having help on Saturday to move to Utah so that we don't have to pay an INSANE amount of money to rent a U-Haul. Sometimes it is easy to overlook the amount of service others offer to you. I am sincerely grateful for the wonderful family and friends that Matt and I have surrounding us. I have so much I want to talk about BUUUUUT I guess it will have to wait because tonight's allllllniggggghhter starts NOW!

Tournament games began yesterday. I can't believe this season is almost over! It has been such a blast to go to Matt's soccer games and support him. I didn't get to watch the first game of the tournament last night, but we won against The Spartans. This afternoon we played The Bruins, the #1 team in the competitive league. WELL, that is what I am told at least. They are a very good team, but I believe that the Knights are by far the best. I am biased though. ANYWAYS...This afternoons game was INTENSE. It was a tie 1-1 and went into two 5 minute over-times AND THEN had to go even further into penalty kicks. 17 penalty kicks were taken before, are you ready for this, WE WON! OH MY GOODNESS my heart was racing. Tonight the last game will be played against Thunder at 9 p.m. I hope that our team is not too tired for tonight's game!

Freedom, Fireworks, and Fun

FREEDOM
I do not express enough how thankful I am to have the freedom I have. This semester, I am taking a class that is centered around learning about the developing world. Each class I am blown away by how many rights and liberties our country has to offer compared to many third world countries. Right now I, and my group, are studying Rwanda. Rwanda has an election coming up this year and the people cannot vote NOR can they rally publicly for the person they would prefer to be elected. In China there are millions of people who work hundreds of hours of overtime and barely get paid for the time they worked, many times they have to skip lunch, and are subject live in small "dorms" assigned to them with multiple other people. In Ladakh, India, children are JUST NOW being introduced to formal schooling because of globalization. In America, I have been able to leave my house without having to cover my face. In America, I have been able to attend college instead of having to work in a sweat shop to support my brother's college career. In America, I have been able to speak publicly about the President without fear of being arrested. In America, I have been given numerous rights and liberties by our Founding Fathers...I have been blessed beyond my understanding because I live in America.
FIREWORKS
Saturday night Matt and I went to Idaho Falls to watch the fireworks. OH MY GOODNESS...they were the BEST fireworks I have ever seen. They went on for, give or take, 40 minutes and every firework was spectacular. Along with the fireworks show, there was an amazing radio broadcast of songs, quotes, and interesting facts, that you could listen to through your car radio. For the next few years that we are here in Idaho, I hope that we can continue to attend this AMAZING show!
FUN
Not only were the fireworks amazing, but this whole weekend was jam packed with fun things! Friday night we got together with a bunch of couples from our ward and played an EXTREME game of kickball. After losing, NOT that it is about winning or losing, Matt, Jesse, Jessica, and I went to Snoasis for some sweet shaved ice and then over to Jesse and Jessica's place to watch Toy Story. It was pretty darn late, past MY bedtime, and so I struggled to keep my eyelids from slipping down over my eyes throughout the whole movie!
Saturday, aside from watching fireworks, we were finally able to get over to the mall in Idaho Falls so that we could have Matt's ring sized. YAY!
Sunday was AH-MA-ZING. The spirit was particularly strong in every meeting, but especially during Sacrament Meeting. Towards the end, a sweet old woman walked her way up to the stand and bore her incredible testimony. There was an immense amount of conviction and wisdom behind her words. I wish that I could have what she said on tape.
Monday we were invited to go to the lake (I forgot the lakes name) and join in on a fun lunch and games. Almost everyone from Friday night's kickball game and more were at the lake. The highlight of our time there, for me, was the volleyball game. I was able to see and get to know sides of the members that I hadn't been able to see before. I'm learning that we could get together with any group from our ward and it would be a blast...this is seriously the best ward out there...sorry for all of those not in it ;p.

What a WONDERFUL Husband!

I know, I know, I know. Today you came onto this blog while thinking, "I just really want to know how perfect Matthew Lowry Beynon is as a husband." WELL, today is your lucky day because I'm going to tell you all about him!
SO yesterday, Matt came to visit me at work to check it out and see what it's like. I hadn't eaten since breakfast and it was now time for lunch and SILLY me didn't bring lunch! Even though Matt was busy getting things together for Summer Music Fest, a show that was later on in the evening, he went home and made me a sandwich. Not only did he make me a sandwich, he also brought me a few things to put on it just in case I'd prefer them! (annnnd he brought me a grapefruit! YUM) Since he was a busy worker bee, he had forgotten to bring some of my art supplies so I could finish up on some of the art homework I had while waiting for customers to stroll in...which wasn't even a big deal. Matt, the sweetheart that he is, CAME BACK immediately after he was done running errands with a whole bunch of micron pens, and pencils, and erasers, AND he brought his homework so he could stay and spend more time with me!
Yesterday was jam packed with one thing after another and as soon as I got out of work at 6:00 p.m., I had to rush home to meet a hair appointment that I was suppose to BE AT for 6:00p.m. When I finally got home, which seemed to take forever because I was walking, I was greeted by a sparkling clean home! Matt had somehow found the time to clean the kitchen, vacuum, FIX the vacuum, do the dishes, and start the laundry!
If you are thinking, "WOW, what more could this man do?!" I have more to tell.
After the wonderful suprise, it's amazing how awesome the little things are, I rushed over to my friends apartment and apologized a trillion times for being a HALF AN HOUR late! Thank goodness she is such a sweet and forgiving girl. It was a simple trim, and so I was in and out and on my way to go see the sweet show that Matt TOTALLY invented. I love this part. Before the show there was a meeting with the managers and the performers...and I got to sneak in. It was fun to see my husband talking everyone through the show and pumping them up! It was even more fun to watch him and Kyle Redfearn MC the show.
Well there ya go. My husband is officially found guilty of being the perfect husband. How lucky am I?!
